Driver allegedly led pursuit, spat in officer’s face

A felony charge is now facing one man after a high-speed chase on Highway 20. Kevin Davis Mahoney, 47, of Ames, was charged after an incident early Friday morning. Mahoney faces a Class “D” felony charge of eluding with a specification of over 25 mph beyond the speed limit and serious misdemeanor charges of OWI and assault on persons in certain occupations. According to reports filed with court records, Mahoney failed to stop for a marked Hardin County Sheriff’s Office cruiser with its lights activated and led a chase before eventually being stopped.
