Abbas, Heitland close out careers at State

DES MOINES - AGWSR seniors Kaden Abbas and Aiden Heitland represented the Cougars at the 2024 State Wrestling Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena this past week, both falling a match short of the Class 1A podium in their final wrestling meet. Kaden Abbas received a bye in the first round at 150 pounds, facing Jared Rodriguez (West Central Valley) in the second round on Wednesday. Kaden’s match came down to the wire in an 8-7 decision. Rodriguez was awarded a point for a stall call against Abbas, but with only three seconds left.
