An Eldora man remains jailed on a bond of $5,000 cash only after he led police on a pursuit that began of all places right at the dispatch center and saw speeds reach double the 55 mph posted limit.
Captain Wayne Selle was in the dispatch center Aug. 28 at 9:56 p.m. when Daniel Byron Armfield, 54, was reported to have stopped his car right in the middle of the traveled portion of 14th Avenue.
Selle witnessed Armfield touching a parked motorcycle and then, when seeing the officer, Armfield quickly got in his vehicle and fled, ignoring the officer’s command to come over.
