Wheeler takes in Drake Relays experience

“It’s a bit overwhelming honestly.”

Traven Wheeler candidly described the feeling of competing in Thursday’s session of the 2023 Drake Relays, competing in the high jump among the state’s best athletes. 

“Everyone’s there watching you high jump, you’re getting used to the crowd,” Wheeler said. “It was hard to handle my first few jumps, but it was nice to compete.”
