Hardin County can be proud of one local cowboy who has been roping his dreams into reality through a lot of hard work and dedication. Eighteen-year-old Drake Foutch qualified for the 2022 National High School Rodeo Finals in the team roping division. He is now in Gillette, Wyoming competing with the best team ropers from all 50 states, as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico and New Zealand. Foutch, along with fellow team roper, Trenton Collett of Ottumwa, are in the ranks of 1,700 contestants and 1,900 entries in one of the most prestigious high school rodeo championships in the world.
