ELDORA – Sam Preston hit the game-winning single in a 4-3 win for South Hardin softball against Waterloo Columbus in Eldora on Wednesday, June 29.
Jaidyn Teske and Alyssa Kix hit back-to-back singles to start the seventh, and when first base came open, Hailey Rosonke was given it with an intentional walk to load the bases. Ellie Anderson hit a grounder back to the mound that forced Teske out at home for the first out. But Preston stepped up and delivered the game-winner to score Kix’s courtesy runner, Alyssa Stille.
