ELDORA—A leak in a pipeline leaving the Eldora wastewater treatment plant saw treated wastewater directed into the Iowa River for about a week, but city officials now say the situation has been corrected.
Last week City Administrator Aaron Budweg said City Hall wanted to stress that the DNR was reporting “treated” water was discharged. That discharge, he said, had gone through the all-but-full treatment cycle, but there remained a final ultraviolet light disinfection stage, which was interrupted.
