Like mother, like daughter: Cobb teaches in same building her mom did

ELDORA – Joylyn Cobb is in her seventh year of teaching fifth grade at Eldora-New Providence Elementary, but in her 33rd year of teaching.

“I actually student taught 33 years ago at Radcliffe Elementary,” she said. “They were just Hubbard-Radcliffe back then.”

Her journey from there includes teaching seventh and eighth grade math at South Hamilton, a stint at St. Thomas Aquinas in Webster City, as well teaching grades two, three, four and five at the public school in Webster City. “But I’ve taught fifth grade most of my years,” she said.
