It’s the most colorful time of the year

I think when there’s some unusually warm weather, no snow on the ground and days that appear more like October than December, Christmas can sneak up at a fast and surprising pace.

Take today, for instance. It’s officially the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year, and Christmas is this Saturday. When did that happen? I guess if we lived in some southern state, we’d just be used to having nice weather leading up to the holidays.
