ELDORA – Ione Zeisman started talking about retirement last July. The 85-year-old has been working at the Pine Lake Food Shelf since July of 1993, when it was first located in the old hospital, then moved to the mini mall. For the past 20 years, it has been located at 1201 14th Ave. where people are asked to use the back door.
Ziesman wanted to retire before the snow started piling up this winter, and she got her wish. On Dec. 1, Sara Zellmer will take over the reins at the Food Shelf.
“Sara decided to step in and step up,” Ziesman smiled.
