Barbara Purdy

Barbara Purdy, 87, passed away, Oct. 27, 2021, at Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

Barbara Ellen Row was born May 9, 1934, to Dallas and Nellie (Howard) Row, in Eldora, Iowa.

Barbara’s family includes her four children, Lee Ann Vanderpol, David Purdy (Gretchen Schmuch), Eileen Ralston, and Kathy Purdy; three grandchildren, Echo (Brad) Cross, Jarrett Purdy and Jonathan Purdy; sister-in-law, Paula Row; and by many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, David Row.

Barb worked many jobs while residing in Eldora including Dodger Manufacturing, and as a waitress. Barb moved to Missouri where she resided and worked for several years. Upon her retirement, she moved to Iowa City where she resided until her death. Barb had a contagious smile and witty sense of humor with everyone she met.
