DYERSVILLE – Owen Huehnergarth ran for five touchdowns as undefeated Dyersville Beckman defeated South Hardin 42-6 in an opening-round match of the Class 1A football playoffs.
Beckman improved to 9-0 and will host West Branch on Friday. South Hardin’s season ended at 3-6.
Mason Sheldahl was 17-of-36 passing for 206 yards, including a 62-yard pass to Ryan Walters that ended Beckman’s shutout bid in the fourth quarter.
Walters finished with 10 catches for 128 yards and added a tackle for loss and an interception on defense.
