HARDIN COUNTY - It is now autumn, and that brings with it an abundance of color... until the leaves fall off the trees and winter is knocking on our door.
The Iowa River Greenbelt has long been a fall destination for central Iowans wanting to take in the colors. What they will be like remains to be seen. Last week, Hardin County Conservation Director Wes Weiss said there weren't a lot of signs of the season yet. That is, except some ash trees turning yellow and losing leaves at the crown due to the Emerald Ash Borer infestation.
