“It was totally unexpected!” That’s what Eldora resident Jim Brown said about his hole in one shot on a 160-yard par 3. Brown racked up this achievement on a recent trip to Scotland where the prize for his feat included buying a bottle of whiskey for the other golfers, and having his name engraved on a plaque.
Brown said there was a 15 mph wind and the ball went in on one bounce. “I saw it take the bounce, but I didn’t see it go in,” he said, noting that his teammates were the witnesses. “It was a yellow ball that looked a lot like a soccer ball – yellow and black.”
