Douglas John Landis was born on July 22, 1959 in Marshalltown to parents Marvin and Helen (Wallace) Landis. He grew up on the family farm in Bangor and he graduated with the class of 1978 from Union Whitten High School. Doug worked several jobs over his lifetime, including semi-truck driving, construction and his favorite, farming. He loved cars and guns, but not as much as his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Doug loved hitting the open road and traveled all over the United States on his bike, including Sturgis. Doug was an avid collector of eagles and liked to keep things simple. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory is his mom, Helen; his son, David Landis; stepdaughter, Ashley (Devon) Harding; grandson, Dusten Landis; three step-grandchildren; siblings: Wesley (Cindy) Landis, Theresa “Teri” (Michael) Aucoin and Troy (Lori) Landis; his close nephew, Edward Aucoin; several other nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Doug is preceded in death by his dad, Marvin and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
