It’s the dead of winter in Iowa, but this year seems to be better than others. The bitter cold hasn’t set in yet – you know, that cold when the sundogs set up with rainbows on either side of the sun, and frost can almost be seen lingering in the air. Folklore says when sundogs show up, it means rain or snow is on the way. Every time I see a sundog, it tells me we’re in the middle of a bone-chilling cold snap.
