BCLUW – Nobody knew if there would be a fall athletics season when COVID wrought havoc in every possible way earlier this year. Athletes around the state held their breath with hopes that hours and weeks of practice wouldn’t go by the wayside. Low COVID positivity rates meant fall sports were a go throughout much of Iowa and cheer squads could get back to doing what they love.
Even with the green light, the BCLUW cheer team took a hit with COVID constantly a looming threat. Still, the girls and their coach, Ashley Wilson, are happy to be given the opportunity.
