Marguerite A. O’Bryon

NORTH PORT, FLA. - Marguerite A. O’Bryon, 103, former Eldora, Iowa resident, passed to meet her Savior, Friday, Sept. 18, at North Port Pines Assisted Living in North Port, Fla. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Burial will follow at the Eldora City Cemetery. She was born Feb. 16, 1917, to the late Harry and Nina Bueghly of Conrad, Iowa. Marguerite was married to George F. O’Bryon. They made Eldora their home in 1945, when they moved there from Liscomb, Iowa, with their three children, Barbara R. Cochran Turner (Frank) of Blue Ridge, Ga., Rev. Ronald R. O’Bryon (Helen) of Manitowac, Wis., and Roger O’Bryon (Ruth) of Indianland, S.C. Marguerite was known as a piano teacher and for her involvement in being the pianist then organist at First Baptist Church, Eldora, for many decades. She was also involved in helping George at the O’Bryon Chevrolet-Olds Dealership in Eldora until a retirement move to Venice and Nokomis, Fla. Marguerite continued as pianist or organist until age 92, having begun in Liscomb, Iowa, at age 12. Her family and friends loved hearing her play the scales and “What A Friend We Have in Jesus” at her 100th birthday gathering.

Marguerite leaves behind her three children, eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
