While the NICL West is not recognizing an official division champion this summer, AGWSR baseball tied for the best record among West teams after a 1-0 extra-inning victory against Grundy Center on July 1.
The Cougars and West Marshall finished with 6-1 marks against NICL West foes, with Grundy Center an unofficial third in the division at 4-2. West Marshall and Grundy Center did not play this summer due to weather postponements, among other schedule inconsistencies that made declaring an official division champion difficult.
