ACKLEY – AGWSR softball overcame an early 6-2 deficit and five team errors to score a 10-8 win against BCLUW in Ackley on Thursday.
The Comets scored five runs in the top of the second to build its early lead, but AGWSR cut into that margin with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, and then five more in the bottom of the fifth.
Ali Gerbracht hit a triple to bring in MaKenna Kuper as the go-ahead run in the fifth. Gerbracht was 2-for-5 with two RBI and finished the game in the pitcher’s circle in the seventh, helping Rachel Sicard secure the pitching victory.
