Wilma Norman

Wilma Norman, 96, of Hubbard,  passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard.

Visitation was set for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Salem Church in Hubbard.

Funeral services were set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Salem Church in Hubbard.

Burial will take place in the Hubbard Cemetery.

Wilma was born Feb. 8, 1927 in Eldora to William and Fern (Vinton) Lettow. Wilma graduated from Eldora High School in 1945. During her teenage years, Wilma loved going to watch movies at the theater with her cousins. In her final days of Hospice, while in and out of being coherent, she was excited that she thought she was going to see a movie and wanted her cousins, Patty and Virginia, to come along.

Wilma worked as a switchboard operator until she married Harold Norman Nov. 22, 1947. From this union, she was blessed with four children: Charlotte (Richard) Pierson, Wayne (Ellen) Norman, Carolyn (Alvern) Tysdahl and Linda (Ray) Rozevink. Wilma was baptized Dec. 21, 1952 in the presence of the congregation at the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church in Hubbard. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Lamp Lighters Service Organization. She enjoyed camping, playing cards and taking trips. Later in her life, after Harold had passed away, one evening her daughter and she talked about heaven. After reading Bible verses about salvation and knowing that Jesus died on the cross to pay for our (her) sins, Wilma bowed her head and tearfully prayed to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her child-like faith was evidenced in the following days as she began reading her Bible and devotions. Wilma passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Hubbard Care Center. Left to cherish Wilma’s memory are her four children; 11 grandchildren Lori (Joe) LaBate, Stephanie (Brian) Pierson, Amanda (Myles Brown) Cvilikas, Ryan (Shannon) Norman, Lance (Jessica) Below, Laura (Isaac) Imsland, Jake Rozevink, Jason (Annie Meyer) Rozevink, Jennifer Rozevink, Jared Rozevink and Jalyssa Rozevink; four step-grandsons Chad (Kate) Tysdahl, Troy (Carrie) Tysdahl, Blake Tysdahl and Grant (Dottie) Tysdahl; 18 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, sons-in law, Jerry Nichols Sr., Roger Dreessen, and Terry Below and grandchildren Bethanna Faithe and Jerry Nichols, Jr.
