Suspected dealer seeks bond reduction
An Iowa Falls man caught with nearly 20 grams of meth, lots of small baggies and a scale is asking the court to lower his $25,000 bond.
Nicholas David Koebrick, 44, was observed at a residence in the 300 block of Barret Street in Coulter with methamphetamine and items leading an officer to suspect that Koebrick was selling the drug.
After initially telling an officer “Its my personal use,” Koebrick allegedly then admitted to wider-scale operation.
"I sell dope to everybody that wants it, that comes to get it, I get it from 'bout everywhere just depends on who you want,” according to Frankling County Deputy Calen Holman. “I don't just have one person that I get it from". The defendant also stated, "I get it from a person in Iowa Falls".
That earned Koebrick a Class “B” felony charge of a controlled substance violation, carrying up to 25 years in prison.
A statewide warrant with no option for bond was issued by the court, later modified to $25,000.
Through his court-appointed lawyer, Koebrick is now requesting that bond be further lowered.
A hearing is set for Thursday, Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. on that motion along with Koebrick’s arraignment at that time.
