Susan Dickerson

Susan Dickerson peacefully passed away Saturday July 10, 2021, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Her family thanks the staff for their kind and gentle care of mom. Per her wishes there will be no services and she will be cremated. Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Creps Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Susan was born March 13, 1939, to Marjorie Quandt in Mason City, Iowa. She considered her mother’s second husband, Earl H. Aman, her dad after he adopted Susan and her brother David. Susan was raised and educated in the Mason City and Clear Lake areas.

She married Gary D. Dickerson in 1956. Susan held a variety of jobs during her working years - but her favorite was being a mom and homemaker. She was a natural caretaker. Upon her husband's retirement, she chose Eldora for their final home. She so enjoyed the friendly small-town atmosphere.

Susan is survived by her son, Don (Jodi) Dickerson of Albert Lea, Minn.; daughter Debra Dickerson of Eldora; four grandchildren and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gary; son Darren; and brother David.
