Bob is survived by his son Mark Teske (Jennifer) of Cypress, Texas, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and brother, Carroll Teske (Nancy) of Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, LaVine Teske, infant son, Scott Teske, and his cherished daughter, Laurie Ann Akers (Joe).

Bob was born on October 17, 1936 to Herman and Meta Teske, who preceded him in death. He grew up in Owasa, Iowa working on his parent’s farm. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and spent much of his time on the East German and Czech borders. Bob had a very entrepreneurial spirit, and after his time in the Army, he focused on plumbing and HVAC with the intent to start his own business.

In August of 1962, Bob married LaVine Teske, and together they started their family in Alden, Iowa. Bob and LaVine raised their family while running a successful plumbing and HVAC company. Together they made a great team. In retirement, Bob and LaVine enjoyed spending their retirement visiting their daughter Laurie’s family and their son Mark’s family.

Bob was baptized as an infant and was a confirmed member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and he was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran in Alden, Iowa. Even after retirement, Bob could be found helping his church, family, and friends with their HVAC and plumbing needs. He was very generous with his time and quietly helped people in need in his own way.

Robert Herman Teske will be missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace with Jesus and reunited with his beloved wife, daughter, son and his family and friends who have gone before him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Alden, 806 Mill St, Alden, IA 50006 or Iowa Care Initiatives Hospice, 6915 Chancellor Drive Cedar Falls, IA 50613. The family would like to thank Country View Nursing Home in Hampton, Iowa and Iowa Care Initiatives Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Bob and LaVine.
