Margie Jane McStockard
Margie Jane McStockard, 82, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, Iowa. A public visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at the Abels Funeral and cremation Service, Creps Chapel in Eldora. Margie was born on Sept. 15, 1939, in Collins, Iowa to her loving parents, Robert and Gladys (Kuhn) Duncan. She graduated from Eldora High School in the class of 1958. Margie was united in marriage to Harold E. McStockard on Dec. 19, 1959. Harold brought three children to the marriage and together the couple welcomed five more children into their family. The enjoyed 42 happy years together until Harold’s passing in November of 2002. Margie worked as a seamstress for Dodger Manufacturing for over 20 years. When the company closed, Margie retired to care for Harold.
Margie was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Union. She volunteered at Dorothy’s Senior Center in Eldora. She enjoyed dancing, doing jig-saw puzzles, crafts, crocheting, classic country music. However, her true joy in life came from spending time with her family.
Margie is survived by her children Larry (Connie) McStockard, Cheryl (George) Rohlfsen, Angela (Danny) Blair, Beverly (Terry) Miller, and Harold McStockard, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Art (Sandy) Duncan; sister Marlys Smith; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; brothers Oscar and Raymond; sisters Fay; Violet; Dorothy, and Clareta; stepdaughters Sue; Kathy; and Barb; grandchildren Lori Lycke and Danny McStockard; and a great-great-grandson Gavin Hildreth.
