Linda Kay Martin was born on January 9, 1947, in Creston, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Margie (Euritt) Hunt. Linda received much of her education in the Winterset, Iowa, area. Her father was a logger and as the family moved often, they were living in Radcliffe when she met Warren “Warney” Martin.
Warney and Linda were married on May 6, 1967, in Omaha, Neb., and resided on the Martin family farm near New Providence.
Linda was a hard worker and was employed at Marshall Instruments, the Hardin County Home, Dayco in Eldora, and eventually Union Auto until her retirement. She also helped Warney take care of the Martin farm and managed the bookkeeping for Warney’s excavating business.
She had a love of the outdoors and especially enjoyed the serenity of their farm along Honey Creek, where she enjoyed butterflies, hummingbirds and watching the birds at her bird feeder. She adored her kids and grandkids and watching their families grow.
Linda passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at her home.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Warney of New Providence; two daughters, Teena (Dan) Case of Minburn and Tara Strait of New Providence; grandchildren, Norah, Walker, Emery, Kaden and Ruby; sister Jeannie Rogers of Michigan; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
