Kenneth Brownlee

Kenneth Brownlee, 85, of Eldora, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024 at his Eldora home, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Kenneth and his family.

Kenneth Carl Brownlee was born on January 14, 1939 to Howard and Lillian (Jackson) Brownlee in Nampa, Idaho. Kenneth graduated from Nampa High School, class of 1957, then attended The College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho for four years.

Kenneth worked in sales and marketing for Lever Brothers, Bristol Myers, Welch Foods, Whink Products and as a Vice President for Advancement for Grace University throughout his working years.

On Dec. 30, 1960 Kenneth was united in marriage to Marcia Ann (Gobble) in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the Trinity Methodist Church.

Ken was active in church, Kiwanis and the Pine Lake Country Club for many years. He enjoyed sports, playing basketball in high school and college, golfing and watching Cubs baseball and any sports in which his children or grandchildren were participating.

Kenneth Brownlee is survived by his wife, Marcia Brownlee of Eldora, Iowa; children, Bruce (Shari) Brownlee of Fairfax, Virginia, Nancy (Mike) Abbott of Lakeville, Minnesota and John (Karen) Brownlee of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Will (Kelsey) Abbott and Joe Abbott; great-granddaughter, Nora Abbott; sister-in law, Carolyn Edward and niece, Jann Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lillian Brownlee.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be 2 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Steamboat Rock Baptist Church. The family will arrive one hour prior.
