Georgia Miller

Georgia Miller, 89, of Hubbard, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at Hubbard Care Center. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery.

Georgia Eileen (Faust) Miller was born on Feb. 22, 1932, to Carl and Esther (Nassen) Faust. She was baptized and confirmed in the Salem Church. She attended and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1949. After high school, she attended Westmar College in LeMars for one year. On Jan. 26, 1951, Georgia married Glenn Miller in the Salem Church. They were blessed with three children - Carol, Joyce and Keith. Glenn, Georgia and Carol lived in California while Glenn was in the service. On their return to Iowa, they lived on Glenn’s home place until they moved to town in 1986.

Georgia was a lifetime member of the Salem Church where she served on various committees and boards. She was the church organist for many years. She also volunteered at the Hubbard Care Center and received the Volunteer Award. Georgia always looked forward to taking her daughters, daughter-in-law and granddaughters on their annual Christmas shopping trips to Des Moines. She was an excellent baker with butter horns as a family favorite. A couple of the great-granddaughters called her the “sugar cookie grandma.” She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s activities. She was an avid Hawkeye fan. Faith and family were her life.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Carol (Jerry) Rash; and son Keith (Jean) Miller; grandchildren John (Tammy) Rash and their children Jeremy, Anistyn and Macie; Rachel (Danny) Ritchhart, Janelle (Casey) Guiles their children Ava, Cash and Avery; Jared (Angie) Cook their children Adeline, Laney and Corde; Kaela (Matt) Dahlsten and their children Henry, Max and Amelia; Clint (Melissa) Miller and their children Mayella, Hana and Daphne; Sam (Natalie) Miller and their daughter Gabriella; sister Bev Dagit; along with many other relatives and friends.

Those preceded her in death were her husband Glenn, daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Rob Cook, parents, infant sister, brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Ruth Faust, brother-in-law Frank Dagit, father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Lila Miller, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gene and Wanda Miller.
