Frances Christine Ziesman Meeker

Frances Christine Ziesman Meeker, age 97 passed away on April 10, 2023 at Arlington Place in Grundy Center, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday April 14, 2023 at the First Congregational Church in Eldora. Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. and proceed to Rough Woods Cemetery where Frances will be placed with her husband Dale.

Fran was born on the family farm in Pleasant Township near Eldora on March 21, 1926 to Henry and Mary (Ingram) Ziesman. She attended Rough Woods Country School and later graduated from Eldora High School in 1943. On Dec. 26, 1944, Fran married Dale Meeker in the parlor room at the Ziesman family home. They were active members of the Point Pleasant Church where Fran served as pianist. After the closing of that church, Dale and Fran became members of First Congregational Church in Eldora.

Fran leaves behind two daughters, Connie Craig (Larry), of Hannibal, Mo. and Linda Catlin (Tom), of Eldora, Iowa; two sons, Robert Meeker (Tami), of Valley Springs, S.D. and David Meeker (Val), of Eldora, Iowa as well as four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dale, sister Marion Moor and grandson Jake Meeker.

Memorials may be sent in her name to Pine Lake Food Shelf in Eldora.
