Dwight Rodgers
Dwight Rodgers, age 72, formerly of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13th at the Northlawn Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Boeke Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Dwight Edward Rodgers was born September 13, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa to Brighton Dallas and Laura Belle (Bessler) Rodgers.
He received his education at Immanuel School through the eighth grade. Dwight received his high school education at Waterloo West High School.
Dwight enlisted in the US Navy April 3, 1968 serving during the Vietnam War on the USS Ranger and USS Saratoga.
He raised Curly horses from 1987-2009. Dwight worked with his father in a heating and electric business in Waterloo.
When his eyesight declined, he was admitted to Manor Care in Cedar Rapids and from there went to live at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanny (Eric) Lashley and granddaughter Kayla Lashley of Albany, GA; brother Robert (Charleen) Rodgers of Cedar Falls, IA; sisters Karolyn (Dave) Kadera of Lansing, IA, Shirley (Brad) Bradley of Des Moines, IA, Peg (Sang) Albrecht of St Paul, MN; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers infants Dallas and James and Randy.
