Donna Lee Leonard
Donna Lee Leonard, 89, of Eldora, Iowa passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the Eldora Specialty Care with her loving family by her side.
Funeral services for Donna will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Eldora, Iowa, with Rev. Dan Fernandez officiating. Public visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the Creps Abels Funeral Home Chapel, where Donna’s family will be present to greet friends. The family has requested for everyone attending to please wear a mask inside for everyone’s safety. Following services on Tuesday, Donna will be laid to rest at the Eldora City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in Donna’s name to her family, which will be later designated to the United Methodist Church, Eldora Public Library, and the Hardin County Historical Society. Donna Lee Felt was born on July 24, 1931 in Waukee, Iowa, the daughter of Ray Louis and Grace (Aldrich) Felt. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa. Following her graduation, Donna went to the University of Iowa to study Journalism. On September 7th, 1951, Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frederick H. Leonard in Waukee, Iowa. From this union three children were born: Peggee, John and Jane.
When the children were older, she worked in the Hardin County Abstract office for many years. Donna was also in many different memberships: P.E.O., Eldora Library Board, Monday Club, Marathon Bridge, Pine Lake Country Club, Republican Women, United Methodist Church and Hardin County Historical Society. She had a true passion for the helping with the Election Polls, avid reader, traveling all over the world and playing in her bridge clubs. Donna’s number one passion was the time she got to spend with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Peggee (Tim) Ellefson, John Leonard and Jane (Steve) Triplett; grandchildren: Cassie (Ben) Landhauser, Ben (Laura) Ellefson, Amanda Leonard, Hilary (Nick) Rohwedder, Kyle Triplett, Laura (Chris) Voss and Tricia (Toby) Hoffman; great-grandchildren: Gwen Landhauser, Jackson and Stella Vargason, and Riley and Addy Rohwedder as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Leonard; parents: Ray and Grace Felt; one sister: Marcia Walker and two brothers: Leland Felt and Kingsley Felt.
