A celebration of life will be held December 6, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the Hardin County Fairgrounds- Youth Building, 409 11th Ave, Eldora, IA 50627. With honor, Adams Celebration of Life is serving the family.
Dawn Marie Bowman was born into this world on June 7, 1962, by Jack & Mary Bowman of Iowa Falls. As a child growing up, Dawn and her siblings Doug (Linda) of Iowa Falls, Kurt (Judy) of Lafayette, CO, and Linette (Joel) of Mooresville, NC, spent a lot of time out at her grandmother’s farm, playing, riding motorcycles and tagging along on Grandma’s apron strings.
As she got older and able she pursued a job at the A & W Drive Inn in Iowa Falls where she worked until she was offered a full-time position at Fareway Meat & Grocery in Iowa Falls. She started there on May 20th, 1986. She worked there roughly 39 years, right up to the time of her passing. She loved her job, most of her co-workers and the gathering that came with the job.
Dawn met her lifetime partner on August 17, 1988, Bud Crosser. She loved going to stock car races, NASCAR races, drag races, tractor pickup pulls, pretty much anything motorsport. They also were known to log a boatload of miles on their Harley Davidson motorcycles, which were never short on supply (together owned 6 ). They rode all over the United States covering about 43 states in total. She also loved snowmobiling where we spent a lot of time with good friends in the beautiful mountains of the west, mostly Wyoming and Montana. Every year waiting for March 1st to load up, head west for 8 days for time with family and friends and usually lots of snow. Then back to reality.
In the fall of 2023, she developed a cough she couldn’t shake. The cough would come & go until she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She fought on, not giving up or telling anybody of her condition as severe as it was. For those of you that knew her, she was soft & timid but never wanted any special treatment, she was just plain tough! As things progressed her body became overrun with 21 cancer tumors that she couldn’t fight off anymore. Dawn passed away peacefully at her home with her two besties Bud & Crue who held her hand slowly till the end.
Again, there will be a celebration of life with food and variety will be held December 6, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the Hardin County Fairgrounds- Youth Building, 409 11th Ave, Eldora, IA 50627. She wanted to wait until everyone was done grieving, said she wanted everyone to smile, not cry. She also wanted me to thank everyone that touched her life.
Thank you — Bud & Crue
