Brenda Murphy
It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Murphy announces her passing on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Brenda was born on December 30, 1960 to the late Peggy and Mike Stegen in Cudahy, Wisconsin. Brenda grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until her family moved to Eldora, Iowa in 1970 where she later raised a family. Brenda married Mark Murphy on July 11, 1988 and spent 35 wonderful years with her soulmate. Brenda was a very caring mother to Jamie, Tim, Bethany, Aaliyah and Alyssa. Brenda, along with her daughter, Jamie owned and operated J&B Knook & Cranny. Brenda also joined her husband in the creation of Mark Murphy’s Trucking Co. where she enjoyed traveling across country with him.Her greatest joys in life were painting, doing crafts, making specialty cakes with her mother and daughter, Jamie, as well as having coffee with family and friends. Over the years she enjoyed camping, traveling, and going on motorcycle rides.
Brenda is survived by her husband Mark Murphy; heer children Jamie Hallett, Tim Bittner, Bethany, Aaliyah and Alyssa Murphy; her brother Rick (Kela) Stegen, sister Pam (Harold) Pagel; her grandchildren Megan (Alex) Thebeau, Emma Hallett, great grandma to her pride and joy, Runa Thebeau; aunt to many nieces and nephews, especially Tracy Schaufenbuel with whom she was very close.
She was preceded in death by mother, Peggy; father, Mike; son-in-law, Brent Hallett whom she loved very much.
Brenda, “mom”, “nana”, we love yu forever and a day.
