Beth A. Folkerts passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home in Steamboat Rock. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3:00 pm with Pastor Lynn Arends officiating. A graveside service at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery will follow the service. With honor, Adams Celebration of Life is serving the family.
Beth was born on March 15, 1962, in Waverly, Iowa to Nelson and Mary Lois Nichols, who joyfully welcomed their fourth child to their growing family. Beth attended Eldora High School, graduating in 1980. She continued her education at Hamilton Business College in Mason City for one year. Following her graduation from college, Beth worked for several car dealerships, which took her to the communities of Clarion, Marshalltown and Eldora.
Beth met her future husband, Steve Folkerts, whom she married on December 14, 1985. She continued working several jobs in Eldora, including another car dealership, Dayco and Dodger, until she found her calling working for Jim Sween in his law office for 19+ years. During this time, Beth and Steve were blessed to adopt a three-month-old baby boy from South Korea, naming him Michael Adam Folkerts. Beth retired from full time work due to ongoing medical conditions. She loved to sit in our backyard watching birds, watering flowers and watching them grow. Steve was blessed to enjoy 38+ wonderful years with Beth as his soulmate.
Left to cherish Beth’s memory till we meet again include her husband, Steve; son Michael; sister Nancy (Brad) Stewart; sisters-in-laws Brenda Nichols, Patsy Klatt, Connie (Randy) Rose and many nieces and nephews.
Greeting her with open arms in Heaven were her parents, Nelson and Mary Lois; sister Carol; brother Brian and her grandparents.
