Bernadine Daleske
Bernadine Daleske, 102, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Eldora Specialty Care Facility located in Eldora, Iowa.
Funeral services for Bernadine will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church located at 1105 Washington St., Eldora, Iowa 50627. Pastor Aaron Hambleton will be officiating the service. Public visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home located at 905 Edgington Ave., Eldora, Iowa 50627. Following services, Bernadine will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Cemetery in Eldora. Memorial contributions may be directed in Bernadine’s name to her family, which will be later designated elsewhere. Bernadine Ida Tordoff was born on June 12, 1918, in Alden, Iowa, the daughter of Edward James Sr. and Jessie Ida (Moore) Tordoff. She was raised and educated in the Hardin County school district, where she graduated from Owasa High School. Following graduation, Bernadine went onto study one year at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls.
On Oct. 24, 1940, Bernadine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ernest Hans William Daleske in Eldora, Iowa. She taught at a rural school for three years and helped Ernest on the farm until 1963. The couple decided to move to Eldora in 1963 and that’s when Bernadine started working for Dr. Rogers office as a Medical Office Assistant. She dedicated 24 years of her working years in the medical field. Bernadine was a proud member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora and was extremely active with all the different church activities.
Left to cherish her memory are siblings: Merlin Peterson, Harlan (John) Peterson, Robert Peterson and Patti Neilsen; numerous nieces and nephews as well as her many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Daleske; parents: Edward Sr. and Jessie Tordoff; siblings: Everett Tordoff, Edward Tordoff, Melvin Peterson, Delano Peterson, Adeline Blatchley and Carol Carr.
