Barbara A. Heller

Barbara A. Heller passed away peacefully at Golden Peaks Center on Nov. 3, 2021. She was born in Eldora, Iowa, to Ruth and Clyde J. Sheldon. After high school Barbara attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She went on to teach 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in Nevada, Iowa, for the following 8 years.

She married Marvin W. Heller of Grundy Center, Iowa, in 1953. He completed his Ph.D. in Physics at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, in 1959. They moved to Fort Collins, Colo., in 1961, where Marvin joined the faculty of CSU and taught in the Physics Department and they started their family. Their two sons Brett and Dana reside in Fort Collins. Their son Gregory, deceased in 2000, gave then their two lovely granddaughters, Frankie and Lola whom reside in England. One sister Judy Maisel, her husband and their sons Mitch and Brett reside in Hubbard, Iowa.

Barbara enjoyed her family, friends, her church; Resurrection Fellowship, reading and artwork. She especially enjoyed doing small sculptures in redwood and creating carvings into bark. She also enjoyed her 23 years in women’s retail clothing in Fort Collins.

Interment will be at a later date in Eldora, Iowa, to be near her son and other family members. No services are planned. You may visit www.allnuttftcollins.com to leave a message of condolence for the family.
