Turnovers hamper Tigers

IOWA FALLS- A rough night on the road was experienced by the South Hardin football team, losing 35-6 to Iowa Falls-Alden here Friday.

A touchdown’s worth of turnovers were costly as the Tigers had four interceptions and two fumbles.

The first of the six miscues set the tone for the contest as the Cadets’ Zach Schutt returned a fumble 50-yards for a touchdown and the romp was on.

IF-A led 14-0 after one quarter as Kyler Hadwiger scored on a four-yard run. The hosts stretched the gap to 21-0 at the break when Karson Sharar pulled down a 27-yard scoring strike from Sam Off.

“Everything that could go wrong did,” said South Hardin coach Nick Eller. “The kids played hard. The defense and special teams were good, we just had a tough time with the turnovers on offense. Some of it was Iowa Falls-Alden and some of it was us. That first turnover for a fumble return touchdown really was a big momentum swing.”
