ELDORA- After two days of weather delays the South Hardin boys’ basketball team opened post-season play here Wednesday and made quick work of Eagle Grove, winning 77-37 during a Class 2A district quarterfinal contest.

The Tigers tallied an unanswered 22 points to finish the first quarter and start the second, turning the contest into no-contest.

South Hardin scored the final nine points of the first period to lead 17-5 and then piled on the first 13 points for the second, stretching the gap to an insurmountable 30-5. Cade Spieker netted eight of his game-high 16 points in the opening eight-minutes, while Tyrell Todd had five points and Jacob Vander Wilt two baskets to spark the spurt in the second.
