Tigers stumble out of game

MONROE- It was an early exit from the post-season for the South Hardin boys’ basketball team.

As in real early as the Tigers trailed 22-1 after one quarter and lost to Pella Christian, 72-49 during a Class 2A quarterfinal game here Monday.

The Eagles behind an array of offensive weapons and stingy defense scored 20 unanswered points to finish the opening eight-minutes and never looked back. Pella Christian had seven different cagers score in the first quarter.

After digging themselves a deep, deep hole, South Hardin was competitive over the final three quarters, but the damage was done. The Tigers lost the final 24-minutes by two points, 50-48.
