Tigers post shutout win

HAMPTON- A rare shutout was registered by the South Hardin football team here Friday, posting a 35-0 victory over Hampton-Dumont-CAL.

For the first time in 29 games dating back to the season opener in 2016 the Tigers blanked an opponent. The last goose egg came in a 7-0 victory over South Hamilton.

Nick Eller has praised the play of the defense throughout the early season. “The defense played well again. The guys tackled well and helped us win the field position battle. I’m very happy with the shutout.”

The South Hardin defenders limited the Bulldogs to 38 total yards – 66 passing and a minus 28 rushing on 26 attempts, and without a first down until the fourth quarter. H-D-C (0-3) has been outscored 112-12 through three weeks.
