South Hardin cagers swept at LeGrand

LEGRAND- Narrow wins were netted by East Marshall in a sweep of the South Hardin basketball teams here Tuesday during North Iowa Cedar League West Conference play.

The South Hardin girls fell, 54-50 followed by the Tigers losing in the closing seconds, 55-54.

TIGERS TRIMMED

The South Hardin boys played to a late one-point outcome for the second straight night, only this time finished on the short end.

The Mustangs’ Drew Runner made the game-winning basket with six-seconds remaining. The basket capped East Marshall’s rally, outscoring the Tigers, 14-6 in the fourth quarter.

GOOD & BAD

Tuesday’s opener had both good and bad for the South Hardin girls.

The bad was the four-point loss extended the Tigers’ lengthy league losing streak to 21-in-a-row, while the good was the offensive production, hitting for 50 or more points for the first time in 33 games. The last time was 54 points Feb. 1 of 2018. South Hardin’s last conference win was over East Marshall in January of 2018.
