Rare post-season win for Tigers

   STORY CITY- A rare post-season victory was captured by the South Hardin baseball team here Saturday, beating Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 5-0 in a Class 2A, Region 11 quarterfinal contest.

   The Tigers halted a streak of 10 consecutive opening round losses in the post-season with the win. The last district victory came in the 2008 campaign by an 8-7 count over Grundy Center. South Hardin then lost to BCLUW, giving the Tigers an 11-game losing skid in districts.

   The victory also lifted South Hardin into double digits for wins, climbing to 10-9 overall. The last Tiger team to reach 10-wins was again in 2008, ending 12-13.
