Police seek help

ELDORA – Hardin County Sheriff Dave McDaniel came to the Eldora city council meeting Tuesday night to lend his support to the Eldora police force in its plea for the addition of a fifth full time officer.
    McDaniel said the per-officer call load on the Eldora force was unique for a town of any size, and counseled that the issue was a matter of safety not only for the community but also for the officers in Eldora themselves.
    Police chief Mike Ludwigs had asked for an opportunity to address the council after January tallies showed that calls for assistance had just about doubled over January last year.
