Hubbard’s Hometown Foods survives

HUBBARD – If the grocery store in Hubbard could talk, it would have plenty to tell. The little store in the heart of the town has gone through a lot in its lifetime and wouldn’t still be here today if it weren’t for the strong support of caring community members. 

In the morning hours of December 7, 2000, a natural gas explosion ripped through downtown Hubbard. The south half of the main street business district was destroyed, which included the grocery store. The people of Hubbard and the surrounding communities jumped into action. They donated money to rebuild the store and purchase equipment, and an operator was found.
