Hardin County Loyalists

The Hardin County Three Quarters of a Century Club was a product of the newspapers.

Or, at least one newspaper columnist, Mrs. C.E. Greef. She wrote a social column back in 1936, and felt motivated to do something to honor the most loyal of her fellow Hardin Countiens.

You needed 75 years here to join her group. But, 1936 was still a time when plenty of early settlers passed the test.

Since that beginning, Mrs. Greef’s project has kept safe a whole host of family names sourced to the earliest days. What is amazing, is how many of those first names can still be found in the phone book today.
