Early Retirement change

E-NP – The Eldora-New Providence Schools continue to offer an early retirement incentive to district teachers, but the just- approved package cuts back on the financial benefits.     For a number of years the district has offered an incentive for longer tenure teachers to take retirement early.
    Everyone was up front about the fact that removing more senior instructors from the pay roll would cuts district costs.
    Replacement teachers were routinely less senior and came on board at a lower pay rate.(Read the rest in Friday's Index)
