ACKLEY – Award winning Hardin County historian and documentary filmmaker Jon Heitland brings five of his works to the Ackley Heritage Center this weekend as the site hosts its fall festival.

 The Ackley Heritage Centers Settlement on the Prairie promises food and a series of video documentaries made by Heitland.

Heitland is a well known film maker who over the last couple of decades has shown a light on some of Hardin County’s more fascinating local lore, and also told the story of early 20th Century rural life more generally. (Read it all in the Friday Iindex)
