Comets Regional golf champs

UNION- The road back to the state meet began with a Class 1A Regional First-Round team title for the BCLUW girls’ golf team here Monday.

Taking full advantage of the home course – the South Hardin Rec Center Golf Course – the Comets bettered the seven-team field shooting a four-gal, 18-hole 408.

BCLUW carded four of the top 10 scores in the field of 37-linksters led by runner-up medalist Lauren Anderson. Anderson and North Tama’s Olivia Scrier tied for first at 94 and Scrier was tabbed meet medalist on a cardback.

Mackenize Trinkle finished fourth, scoring 101 with Lili Wilson sharing eighth at 104 and Bailey Ashton took 10th at 109. Non-scorers Katie Garber and Madison Trinkle ended top 15 with Garber shooting 112 and Mad. Trinkle 115.
