Comets clobber Huskies

REINBECK- An unanswered dozen runs propelled the BCLUW baseball team to a 14-2 romp over Nashua-Plainfield here Tuesday during a Class 1A, District 5 quarterfinal contest.

Knotted two-all, the Comets piled on 12 runs over a four inning stretch, sparked by back-to-back four-run at bats.

Senior Blake Mann had a couple hands in the Comets’ victory. The lefty had a strong showing on the mound on a hot day for the pitching win and led the offensive attack with a home run, two singles and three runs scored.
