Comet catcher to join IGHSAU Hall of Fame

CONRAD- Twin sisters and best friends Nicole (Fisher) James and Jamie (Fisher) Kruger have shared a lot together over the years and come Thursday the two will have another thing in common when Nicole is inducted into the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union Softball Hall of Fame.

James will be one of four inductees into the Hall of Fame Thursday (July 19) during the State Softball Tournament at the Rogers’ Sports Complex on the north side of Fort Dodge. The ceremony will take place prior to the Class 1A state championship game scheduled for 6 p.m.

Nicole will join her twin sis as Jamie was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame in 2016.

“It is a great honor and it feels good,” said James. “But none of it would be possible without an outstanding coach and great teammates. It is very special to join Jamie in the Hall of Fame, she played a huge part in my success, and to be compared with a lot of great athletes means a lot.

The Fisher twins were one of, if not the areas and state’s best batteries in softball between a four-year stretch from 2007 through 2010. Nicole handled the catching duties for pitcher Jamie and the twosome made for some banner summers for BCLUW softball.
